The Dukaw Project

The Dukaw Project is an informational website dedicated to the Republic of Liberia. Its goal is to inform, educate, and celebrate the country’s story. By highlighting Liberia’s history, communities, people, institutions, culture, and traditions, Dukaw helps make national knowledge more accessible while giving visitors a deeper connection to the Land of Liberty.

More than just a reference site, Dukaw is a growing community platform that encourages participation and collaboration across Liberia. It is working to bring together schools, churches, organizations, and other institutions, while also offering a space for advertisements, events, announcements, and stories that help amplify local voices and preserve Liberia’s rich identity.

Liberia’s government says it has surpassed US$1 billion in domestic revenue collection for the first time, a milestone officials say could expand funding for public services, salaries, and development programs. The government’s proposed 2026 budget is about US$1.211 billion, with roughly 94% expected to come from domestic revenue; it is aiming to collect US$1.3 billion by year’s end.

At the same time, civil-society groups are urging President Joseph Boakai to recall lawmakers to pass bills creating a War and Economic Crimes Court and an Anti-Corruption Court, arguing that accountability remains essential to reconciliation and development. Read More – AllAfrica.com
